Make your clients happy
Communicate with your clients regarding the projects in one centralized place. Make your work transparent to your clients and they will feel much less stress working with you. At any time, 24 hours a day, they will be able to see the status of the project, the latest developments, and even assign tasks to the team members — all without you lifting a finger!
Project is the King!
Store all data in a project context, which will make it much easier for you and your clients to find information relative to a particular project when it is needed. Tasks, files, discussions, knowledge base entries, even emails are located inside a project where they were created. When you go inside a project, all the important information about it is only a few clicks away!
Roles for team members
Define flexible roles for team members for every project. The same person could be a manager in one project and a developer in another one. Use role templates to quickly assign roles to the team members and save already assigned roles as templates for easy re-use in the future.
Project overview
Have a quick overview of all activity in every project on a special page, see tasks statistics for all team members (the number of open and completed tasks for each person). Quickly jump to the list of tasks assigned to a particular team member.
Tasks tree
Work with your tasks using a tree, or look at them using a flat list — both options are available! Factory Nova uses advanced technique to quickly load tree branches for you without page reloading. The already opened branches are transparently saved and next time you will open the same project — proper branches will be automatically opened for you. You can also quickly modify the task parameters directly from a task tree, no need to load a task page.
Smart sorting
Smart sorting for tasks — the most important tasks (based on priority, deadline and status) are always displayed at the top. Overdue tasks are marked with red and due today tasks are marked with yellow.
Smart sorting for projects — projects with problems (with overdue tasks) or projects that require your attention (with due today tasks) are put at the top of the list and are marked with red or yellow respectively.
Manual sorting
Sort any list (tasks, discussions, kb articles) manually by any available column. With an advanced "pin sorting" functionality you can even sort by several columns at once!
Relative links
Easily link a task to another task or to a knowledge base article or to a discussion post or to an email message. Conveniently see relations between various entities in the project and easily browse all the project’s data.
Convert data inside a project
Quickly convert an email into a task (all attachments will also be automatically attached to the task), a task into a discussion, a discussion into a knowledge base article, etc. After the conversion the two entities will be linked to each other automatically via a relative link.
Tags
Tags are simple words or phrases. Use tags to mark tasks that should be completed for a certain milestone or for a certain version of the software that you are developing. The freeform nature of the tags makes them perfect for organizing the tasks in the projects the way you want.
For each tag you can set a priority which will be taken into account in the default tasks sorting — the tasks which are marked with tags with higher priority will be displayed at the top.
Project cloning
Easily clone any data (tasks, discussions, kb articles, files) from one project into another. Create a default project with the tasks and other data which you need at the start of each project and then quickly clone this data into every new project to avoid entering it again each time you begin the work with a new client.
Filters
Use powerful filters for tasks to see only the tasks that you are interested in (filter by status, priority, assignee, tags, deadline, date of modification, keywords). Save filters for easy re-use in the future.
Ajax
Use Ajax feature to quickly edit various elements on the pages without page reloading. This helps to make the work with the information in the project much more easier and convenient — not only for you, but for your clients too!
Email notifications
Receive email notifications about a changed task if you’ve created the task or it is assigned to you. Receive email notifications about all changes in the project (such as new posts in the discussions, new knowledge base articles, new uploaded files, etc) by subscribing to the project. Your clients will also be able to receive the same notifications.
Tasks discussion
Discuss tasks publicly or via a private discussion which is not visible to your clients. See all the communication regarding the task on the task page.
Complete task history
Every change that is made to a task by any team member is logged, so you can always see how the task was evolving through time (track deadline, status, progress changes and more).
Track working time
Track time that was spent on every task by each team member. The working time is logged in the task history and you can quickly see how much time was spent on the task, by whom and and when exactly.
Upload files
Upload unlimited number of files to a task (also, to a discussion post, to a knowledge base article or directly to a project) and discuss each of them in a separate file discussion. Thumbnails are automatically generated for all uploaded images. Optionally, upload big files via FTP and then quickly attach them to any entity inside a project.
File discussion
Discuss any uploaded files. This is especially interesting for discussing images because an image will be displayed at the top of the discussion. And it will even be resized exactly to the size of your browser window (if required). Flash movies are also displayed inline on the file discussion page.
File versioning
Upload multiple versions of the same file and discuss each version separately. This is great for discussing site designs, site specifications and any other evolving content.
Project discussion
Discuss project ideas with your clients or with the project team (with an ability to create private categories, which your clients won’t see) in a separate discussions module available in every project. Close finished discussions and thus remove them from a discussions list — concentrate only on what is important.
Knowledge Base
Store important information about the project, like access password, contact details, whitepapers, specifications in an integrated knowledge base available in every project.
Email integration
Receive emails using a POP3 account directly in Factory Nova. Reply on emails from Factory Nova and an email discussion will be created for you automatically.
Manage emails
Mark emails as important with a click of a button. Important emails are displayed at the top of the emails list for your convenience.
Mark emails as processed with a click of a button. Processed emails are put at the bottom of the emails list and do not clutter the view.
Mailbox for every project
Optionally setup a separate email account for any project and Factory Nova will automatically store all emails coming to this account inside a proper project.
Fulltext search
Search through all the project data with an integrated fulltext searching feature. Limit the search by a certain project or entity in the project (tasks, discussions, knowledge base, etc).
Private label
Brand the interface with your own logo, title and tagline at no extra cost.
Multiple languages support
The product comes with two languages installed out of the box: English and Russian. Additional user-submitted language packs
